Task Description: For our task we had to describe and write what our taniwha looked like. I had a drawing in mind that I'd drew, also thought that it would be really amazing to draw my own taniwha. In the video it shows Tongan people wearing them including their own tupenu and kafa. You're probably wondering what a Kafa is? A Kafa is similar to a rope. It could be hardened and also soft, it is also something that wraps around your waist when you wear a Ta’ovala. Also about other important things in Tonga

You could also see them wearing it to church when you're there. Including your So-te as well. Doesn’t matter if you don’t have a Ta’ovala then just bring whatever you have like your Tupenu. They all wear it to any occasions that are special like a funeral, a dance, anything. When going to dances or Performances they wear Ta’ovala with leaves around their waist, also heaps of coconut oil on themselves.

The reason why they wear coconut oil is because it is a celebration of the symmetry of the human body as well as a mark of ancestral identity. When it comes to funerals, that’s like the saddest thing ever, because it’s one of your elders that passed on, or your family members. They’ll be put in a coffin, before that they clean the person up and get put in the coffin.

When Tongans go to a funeral, they are all dressed in black.

It’s the same, Tupenu, black so-te, and a Ta’ovala, Kafa. Those are the things you bring to a funeral. Another reason I have is that back in the day Tongans would always go overseas to fish and look for them while they go fishing, in their boat. They use the fishing rod or their own home made one to gather all the fish so that they don’t starve, so that they can fill their bodies up to stay energized.

Sionehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06935129373969706788noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9083631975495596155.post-47765835242814305192020-08-10T13:58:00.000+12:002020-08-10T13:58:21.735+12:00Ideas about Year 7/8 programme.

After the long bus ride we finally got there and hopped off sitting in our team lines like practice back at school. After we unpacked all the bags, we had morning tea, went to our first rotations after. My team name was Thames B, our first rotation was Go-Karts with Mr Jacobson.

What I got out of year 8 Leadership camp was the things we said t the concert night on Thursday. We all introduced every team until we got up stage sharing a few of our best highlights of camp. We said some things that lifted us up to get to the top, we kept on moving forward as we proceeded through the days.Sionehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06935129373969706788noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9083631975495596155.post-84178602233437020912020-07-29T12:17:00.001+12:002020-07-29T12:17:23.268+12:00In Training - T3, 2020.
Task Description: This week we had our fist official math task. This was about training for runs and other stuff. After we read the questions we got into groups getting our own pen and paper. Me and my group already had ideas coming out of our heads and also writing them down, after we finished writing our answers and knowledge on the paper, we made a copy of the task writing everything that was on the paper.Sionehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06935129373969706788noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9083631975495596155.post-58350515889829316052020-07-29T09:44:00.000+12:002020-07-30T10:21:53.026+12:00Create Task.
Task Description: We first watched a video about people that were gods. As we watched the video we had an understanding of how they gained this and that. Anyways, there were 3 gods named Moni Mekhala, Vorachhun and Ream Eyso, the 3 had a competition by their hermit, their master, his name was Lok Ta. Meanwhile, in the video he said that he'll bestow a gift upon the student who gets the water into the jar filled up at the top, the Morning Due it was called. We made a copy of our task and started getting on with it, we had to put in order.Sionehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06935129373969706788noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9083631975495596155.post-78481520220659193352020-07-22T12:32:00.000+12:002020-08-03T14:15:05.084+12:00Greek Mythology.
Task Description: The first thing we did was that we were watching a video about the gods and other people that are spirits and other stuffs. After that we watched another video to understand the meanings and stories of the gods and ancient stories. Meanwhile, we had a little jam on Kahoot, we also had to pick random names by spinning the spinner to get a random character name.
We then made a copy of the slides and started putting all those words to match the images.Sionehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06935129373969706788noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9083631975495596155.post-45481262120974718212020-07-22T10:17:00.000+12:002020-07-23T10:18:16.660+12:00Hercules - Hero of Titans.
Task Description: After we finished our task we created one and searched up a hero or legend. I decided to do Hercules because he's the best out of all of them, not all. Anyways, I than started writing 1 fact which was very big. Before we did this we received a fruit burst lolly from Mrs Stone after we finished the first task.Sionehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06935129373969706788noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9083631975495596155.post-3965978958939311362020-06-30T09:55:00.000+12:002020-06-30T09:55:35.567+12:00Decimal Delight Worksheet.

Task Description: For maths we did another decimal task. We all had to colour in the boxes that had in --structions. It showed how we had to do it, it was condusing for me, I thought I got all of them right, when I looked at Rae jae's one it said BODY. This looked very weird. I had some help from Caleb and gave me some hints to see if I'm close to getting it right.
Task Description: We first had to record ourselves saying the whole text. It took us a lot of time to complete this. The next day which is today we had to do word groups. Putting slashes in the spaces between the words. Our third activity we needed to do was to pick worthy words on the text and paste it on to our reading task on the slideshow. For our last activity was to do a CREATE TASK with a buddy.Sionehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06935129373969706788noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9083631975495596155.post-90557926736030656672020-06-23T10:43:00.001+12:002020-06-23T10:43:01.273+12:00Decimal Numbers.

Task Description: Our maths task was about decimals. We then received 2 dices and a sheet of paper. Meanwhile, we got straight into the practice game that we had. We rolled the 2 dices and tried adding up numbers that were the highest and lowest, after that, we had one more to do. My group including myself had a challenge of who had the biggest, highest decimal number. The one who won was Damien, I was second and AJ M was last.Sionehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06935129373969706788noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9083631975495596155.post-9578199493173938662020-06-23T10:36:00.002+12:002020-06-23T16:47:51.083+12:00Sky Tower Lights For Matariki.

Task Description: For today's in the news was about reading sentences about the light of the sky tower. We were reading sentences in a group and also recording ourselves saying each of these sentences. We used screen casting to record our voices. Me and my group also learned about words that wasn't understandable for us.Sionehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06935129373969706788noreply@blogger.com1
